Finding Stillness in a Noisy World
When I think of stillness, I think of the mind. As it constantly runs, it chatters and doesn’t stop bouncing from one thought to the next… it’s clouded.
I feel that when I’m still, a sense of clarity begins to emerge. Your mind isn’t digging up the past or dreaming about the future, merely content by the lack of desires and just experiencing what is. A blissful silence.
For me, this silence and quietness in the mind comes when I’m playing sports or building something with my hands. This feeling of flow allows for my complete presence.
Thinking about this idea of stillness has me more aware of my daily activities. Which ones cause my mind to wander off? And which ones are making me feel alive and naturally fully focused?
Here’s to spending more time doing the latter!
When do you find your mind is most still?
